A hands-on inspection is the only reliable way to know for certain what you are dealing with.

Walk the perimeter of your home and look for any sections where the stucco surface appears pushed outward, discolored in a new way, or where you can see gaps that were not there before. Take photos of anything that looks off, especially near gutters, window frames, and corners where runoff tends to concentrate. Avoid pressure washing or scrubbing the affected areas in an attempt to clean them up, since that can push moisture further behind the surface and make the repair more involved.
